Scooter spraying? These are the supplies.
- Bucket of water
- Sandpaper fine grit
- Degreaser
- Spray can (Motip comes highly recommended)
- Room that is dry and dust-free.
Step-by-step plan to paint your scooter
Now that you know all you need to get your scooter painted, it's time to actually get started. We have created a step-by-step plan for you that will help you achieve the new look of your scooter.
- Clean the part to be sprayed with the water and clean the surface with a degreaser.
- Sand the surface well so that it is rough to the touch. and then degrease again.
- Read the sprayer's instructions carefully.
- Always shake spray cans well before and occasionally during use. After use, also hold upside down for a while and clean the nozzle.
- Fill small scratches with a filler (plastic).
- The primer can be applied in thin layers. Apply a thin coat first for adhesion and wait for it to cure sufficiently. A second coat can be sprayed opaque. Then sand the primer. Make sure that the layer is not too thick or it will cause drips on the paint.
- Also apply the color varnish in several thin coats.
- When the scooter paint has dried sufficiently you can apply the clear coat or varnish,to prevent bleeding of the color.
