Euro 4 scooter

Since January 1, 2018, a new standard has been introduced that scooters must meet. This is the so-called Euro 4 scooter standard. Currently, scooter stores are still offering some Euro 2 and Euro 3 scooters. This is no longer allowed from now on. Stores are only allowed to sell and license Euro 4 scooters. The current stock of Euro 2 and Euro 3 scooters may still be sold if they are already registered. All 2 stroke scooters may no longer be sold at all. The difference between Euro 2 and Euro 4 scooters is that the Euro 4 is more fuel efficient and better for co2 emissions. This only applies to the business market and therefore not to private individuals selling second hand scooters.

What's new?

The updated plan uses 2 different systems. The electronic carburetor and the electronic injection. The electronic carburetor works as follows: You receive fuel and air, this is mixed by the carburetor and causes it to be placed in the cylinder. Also, it has 1 or more electronic air regulators that can create an overpressure or underpressure with the result that the scooter can be adjusted several times per second and thus the scooter will drive even more economically and environmentally friendly.

In addition to this, you also have electronic injection. This system can be very detailed. This system often works with the same sensors as the electronic carburetor, but instead of air regulators, this system controls an injector that injects just enough fuel for maximum power and minimum consumption and emissions. As a result, it drives a bit more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly again. However, this system is a bit more expensive and therefore the electronic carburetor system is often chosen.
